Public bug reported:

I am not sure what I might have done to make this happen (I remember
fumbling and pressing some keys by accident, such as ALT, CTRL and a few
other keys), but my reply to a message in the Chat pane cut through the
message I was replying to. This is shown in the attached screenshot,
where Tijoy had written "Actually QT 4.7.1" and I then wrote "Same
version of Qt as me."

I have not been able to replicate this bug.
