Fwd: Re: User Testing
Hi all,
I did the same this evening: just let some new users test the app
and I see one big problem:
What you want your navigation app to do is: find a destination to guide
you to...
But what the users had problems with was: How can I search for that
destination actually....
Search seems to be quite hidden.
A critical point I see is a confusing/not clearly stating "route" icon
in the header.
I thought about how to make the "search" more obvious and got ideas I
want to share:
First, in general:
-add small text descriptions below each popup-button.
- show the "send" icon in the header, overlayed by a smaller "settings"
icon (as it is not meant to be a "navigate to" icon) indicating that
there are route settings you can take.
-Also, add the search icon to the current-position-click-popup as it is
an action you might take from the current position.
if no route is active:
- Add a bottom swipe with a "search" icon leading you directly to the
searchPage (search state header, Search history still visible as in the
versions before).
If there is an active route state:
- hide the bottom swipe.
What do you think about that?
I think we should really use the time left for preparing 0.59 on
additional ux improvements as you stated Nik.
Best Joerg
