[Bug 372328] Re: Bacula has no encryption support in bacula-sd-sqlite3

Have tried to rebuild using instructions from here (as root)

http://www.backupcentral.com/phpBB2/two-way-mirrors-of-external-mailing-
lists-3/bacula-25/bacula-in-ubuntu-8-04-without-tls-91988/#283516

(some commands below changed as the new version of aptitude does not
have 'Super Cow Powers'!)

apt-get build-dep bacula
apt-get install libssl-dev openssl
apt-get source bacula
cd bacula-2....
vim debian/rules
# (change the options to enable ssl tls)
debian/rules binary
#it should now compile and pack all bacula packages

However after doing this and installing appropriate .debs the daemons die with buffer overflows when started.

I am assuming this due to newer compiler/libs being used - the original
package in the Jaunty distro was compiled on 18th March.

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24056236/buildlog_ubuntu-jaunty-
amd64.bacula_2.4.4-1ubuntu5_FULLYBUILT.txt.gz

Anyone had any luck rebuilding using a current build environment?

Status in “bacula” source package in Ubuntu: Confirmed

Bug description:
Bacula has encryption support via the storage daemon bacula-sd, however this has not been compiled into the sqlite3 version.

Is there any particular reason it is not compiled in?

This issue existed in 8.04 (hence: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/38181) and also exists in 9.04, which prompted my report.
