I don't like the of assigning a timer-applet instance to a preset. That sounds unnecessarily complicated.
Instead assigning a preset to a timer-applet instance is more reasonable.
Also, the big number over the icon is not possible if you have a small panel height.
What about this: Double-clicking the panel icon automatically starts the
last used preset?

Please, define "understandable". That would help me a lot.
