Just wanted to post a link that seems relevant to this discussion.  In
this past Ubuntu OpenWeek there was a Leadership Workshop session by
Jono Bacon that was very good.  A lot of it could easily relate to
running something like a LoCo.  You can download his book as well, "The
Art of Community" which talks about online communities and how they can
thrive.
