QWWAD 1.0.2 preview release
Dear QWWAD testers team,
I'm delighted to announce that the first preview release of the
Quantum Wells, Wires and Dots (QWWAD) simulation package is now
available. This release provides the programs and example scripts
needed to run all the simulations in Chapter 2 of our textbook. We'd
like to invite you to download the software and give it a try. I'll
progressively update the package with code and examples for the rest
of the book over the coming months, so don't worry if I haven't
reached the bit you're most interested in yet!
The easiest (and recommended) way of installing QWWAD is to use our
software repository in Ubuntu [1]. You can, however, install it on
other UNIX-based machines manually [2].
After installation, I recommend trying out the example scripts [3],
which you can use to generate any of the simulated data in Chapter 2
of our book. Since this is intended as educational software, we
encourage you to copy and play with the scripts and investigate what
each of the program options does.
If you get stuck, please don't hesitate to post a message on our
Answers page [4] and if you find any bugs, please let us know [5].
Thanks once again for taking an interest in our software. I hope you
find it useful in your studies and your research!
Best wishes,
Alex Valavanis
