Handling network access
Someone pointed out to me, a few weeks ago, that programs wouldn't be
able to access the internet if we wanted to avoid spam. Since that
obviously has some problems, what rules could/should we implement to
avoid spam? I don't think implementing a rule like "you can only
access the network twice as much as you access the network for the
cluster" (similar to what we have for processor time) would really
work, since some applications really do have legitimate need to do
massive network access (search engine indexing, etc...), and because
it might even be possible to use the cluster as a botnet under these
rules.
