I remember when I first learned to program - C++ on windows, it took hours to get "hello world" working. The window popped up, but kept disappearing before I could read what was on it! (The answer was the next sentence in the book, of course....) I have a feeling modred's first "hello world" will be rather similar. Nevertheless, let's try to make it something interesting, or at least "hello world", rather than the less acknowledged but probably more common "fdasgds".
