Message #00130
Re: Episode 2 brainstorming
Justin,
Since you brought up several topics, I'm going to reply in multiple
messages. That will make it easier to discuss. My first replies are below:

Hey everyone,
I'd say the first episode went pretty well. We seem to have a lot of
feedback/comments to go through. I wanted to send out this email to
start discussion on episode 2 and also talk about some of the feedback I
have been seeing.
We have been getting some good feedback, and overall very positive. For
our first effort, I think it's great. I think it's going to get even
better as we get more practice, and get more feedback on what they're
interested in hearing.
*Episode 2
*Charles do you have ideas for what the main topic will be?
The topic will be backups: mintBackup, Flyback, and Jungledisk.
I was
planning on recording another segment early next week and was thinking
about one of the following.
1. Media players - What are the options in Linux Mint (as well as how to
subscribe to the podcast)
2. Where to go for more help (websites with useful information as well
as IRC/forums)
3. What to do when your system is broken, and how to stay backed up.
#3 would be a good follow-up to this week's show.
But all three are good topics. I like #2, as one of the complaints I
hear from uneducated Windows fanboys is that since Linux is free, you
can't get support. That's not my experience at all, and it would be good
to get the word out.
And there's plenty of interest in media player. These are all good
ideas. My preference for the sequence would be #3, then #2, then #1.
