Re: Another Idea for the show

I like what I'm hearing so far. Working form a process-management side of things, I think it'd be best if we set a weekly schedule with set targets, like on one day the idea for the next segment is due, followed by a script, then the recording, which is then mastered. Sharing all these things too would help (people would know whats already been talked about, it would organize our thoughts, etc). I don't think we'll ever get a chance to do a show start to finish with everyone interacting live, but faking it isn't as hard as it may seem. It'd also be cool to see if we could keep as much of the production using materials provided straight out of the box in Linux Mint. it'd really sell the brand so to speak. I know its not entirely possible, but its worth striving for. My final thought is we should have a clear audience scoped out for each section, not try to cater to everyone (or one group) the entire show. This increases our audience base and the diversity of our podcast will be expanded as well. Just some procedural ideas, trying to make it possible for people on 2 continents to collaborate and make something awesome!

I like the command line idea. I thought of doing some sort of media section (not in the first few podcasts but once things start rolling) XBMC and Boxee have really started to make some good headway in the Linux community I have been using xbmc/xbmp on my xbox since 2004 and have been using/playing with mythtv for a few years too. Maybe the section could cover linux mint and your media or something. I am also currently writing a comparison of Rythumbox, Banshee, and Amarok from my wife's point of view for my personal site but we could maybe have a wife/girlfriend review every once and a while.

I will be available most of this weekend if someone wants to set up a time to skype to test voice quality.

    Hey guys,

Tell me what you think of this.
A section of the show (or rather just a quick comment) where we
go over a command line command, for those who are new to Linux and
    listening to the podcast.

Also, Ardour is a good way to mix in Multiple tracks and you can
    add the music in post.

Also, My AIM/yahoo IM is ythe1300 so shout at me if I'm on.
