Maybe you both have different models or BIOSes. Can I ask you to run
these commands in a terminal and copy+paste the results in reply?
sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name
sudo dmidecode -s system-version
lspci -vnnn | perl -lne 'print if /^\d+\:.+(\[\S+\:\S+\])/'

Hi,
I'd like to buy a lenovo g550 (intel graphics) to run ubuntu, I've seen
here that you have to add nomodesetting option to boot:

Anyway I didn't found anything about this issue in the group page
(https://launchpad.net/~lenovo-g550). What about this problem? Has
it been
solved?
Thanks
Fabrizio
