Right. I will re-check, as some amounts of information should always be
available anyway, but my understanding is that HAL had been dropped; so
depending on how you attempt to get that information it might just not
be returning anything?

Bug description:
This is the master bug for the following case testing fluendo-dvd:

During lab testing several DVD reader devices were not recognized by fluendo-dvd.

The dvd devices does not appear in the Open Disc menu; pressing Play yields "could not read NAV pack @ block 0".

Current behaviour:
DVD device not recognized, playback is not possible (unless using Open Disc to choose the device under /dev).

Expected behaviour:
DVD device in Open Disc menu, playback starts when pressing Play.
