Public bug reported:

When clicking "Save" on an item, especially for the first time, a new
revision should get saved always, even if an error like "Please specify
a title" are displayed.

This might get fixed by promoting "errors" into warnings instead - but
with a degradation depending on post type: e.g. status=published only
with a title, but everything else is OK without.

In case of errors/abortion of the Save process, the current state should
get saved, as "Draft".
