Thanks ola for your conments. see attached report from one of the district
which contain facility data.

some of the formulas used:-

 1.*Bed compliment or staffed bed*= The number of beds permanently allocated
to a hospital for treatment of inpatient
2.*Bed state*= the number of patients occupying hospital beds at any given
time (ABD Available bed Days = Total beds* period like January *30, Feb  *28
or 29 etc).
3.*Bed turnover/Turnover per bed/Throughput per bed*= The average number of
patients expected to be treated per bed
(TOB = turn per bed)
4.*Turnover interval*= The average number of days beds lie vacant
between successive
patients  (TOI = turn per interval)
5.*Percentage occupancy*= The percentage of actual patient days to the maximum
available patient days as determined by bed capacity during any given
period(% occupancy)
6.*Occupied bed days*= The total number of patients remaining in the
hospital/ward
each day added together over a reference period
7.*Length of stay*= the average number of days patients occupy a bed
 8.
 8.*Average occupancy/Average number of patients* = the average number
of patients
in a hospital during a specified period
9.
10.*Inpatient*= A person who has gone through the full admission procedure
of the hospital and who is occupying a bed in the inpatient department at
the hour of the fixed count.
11.*Day cases* = Day cases are persons attending as non-resident patients
for investigation, therapeutic test, operative procedure or other treatment
and who require some form of preparation period of recovery or both
involving the provision of accommodation and service.
