For bed days what we normally do is to calculate this as pat of the
indicator formula, e.g. when defining an indicator measuring the monthly
"Bed occupancy rate" the denominator is:
"Number of beds" * 30.3

Numerator depends on what data you have of course, but could be  "Total
lying days" or "Inpatient days" + 0.5 * "Day patients" , or monthly sum of
the midnight census etc..

The static value of 30.3 used in the denominator is the average length of a
month.

I guess this does not work very well with quarterly and annual indicator
values, at least these will have to be separate indicators. Or Lars can come
up with something more programmatic, like the annualised property.
