[Bug 2127842] Re: libboost-process1.88-dev not installed as dependency for libboost-all-dev

Thank you for your bug report. Could you perhaps forward that report to
Debian?

The maintainer did

> libboost1.88-all-dev: Depends on libboost-process1.88-dev. Closes:
#1106723.

so libboost1.88-all-dev has the correct Depends. As you said there is no
un-versioned -dev for it but maybe one should be added?

** Changed in: boost1.88 (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided => Low

Title:
libboost-process1.88-dev not installed as dependency for libboost-all-
  dev

Status in boost1.88 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  # lsb_release -rd
  Description: Ubuntu 25.10
  Release: 25.10

Boost::process 1.88 isn't header only anymore. Therefore the libboost-
  process1.88-dev package got introduced.

But it isn't installed when installing libboost-all-dev as I would
  expect.

And there is no generic libboost-process-dev. So I either have to know
the package name exactly or use a * (like apt install libboost-
process*-dev, which will probably break in the future)

Please add libboost-process1.88-dev to libboost-all-dev dependencies
and add a generic libboost-process-dev package
