[Bug 593241] [NEW] Special characters are not distinguished

Public bug reported:

Special characters, such as +, ?, and #, are not distinguished from a
null character; OMCS seems to think that "C is a kind of programming
language" and "C++ is a kind of programming language" and "C# is a kind
of programming language" are all different ways of saying the same
sentence.

** Affects: openmind-commons
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
