While browsing around on souceforge, I found the SiteX web application.

All of this can be easily done with Woda for years! Woda has still a great 
potential, but we lack a "sexy" look!

Regarding this and future development, take a look at the Campu.net 
application Claudio has build:  http://www.campusnet.it
He already use ajax with this library http://www.prototypejs.org/
Look at the screenshots and at some sites using it, he has added some little 
but nice features.
