Re: Ok gents and ladies - Hardware Profiling
Hello there,
Machine 1 - first gaming machine:
AMD Athlon 64-bit 3700+
4 x 512MB 2.5ns Kingstone RAM
2 x 200GB 7,200rpm WD200JS SATA HDD
1 x Nvidia 6600GT 128MB PCI-E
Machine 2 - second gaming machine:
AMD Athlon 64-bit 3800+ dual-core
2 x 1GB 2.5ns Corsair RAM
2 x 250GB 7,200rpm WD250KS SATA HDD
1 x Nvidia 7600GT 256MB PCI-E
Operating systems: Ubuntu 7.10, 8.04, 8.10, openSUSE 11.0 (KDE) ... and
Windows XP :). Games on first hard disk in both cases, on separate
partition.
Everything works exceptionally well, no slowdowns at all. List of games I
play occasionally rather than just test or review:
Game - Playability - Graphics - Issues
OpenArena - great - high - none
Sauerbraten - great - high - none
Nexuiz - great - high - none
Urban Terror - great - high - none
OpenTTD - great - high - complains about corrupt TRG files, even though
everything works fine
Wesnoth - great - high - none
Toribash - great - high - sometimes, small stutter in windowed mode
Savage - great - medium - none
I also have a laptop (T42) that I rarely play games on, would you like
that one included, too?
Regards,
Dedoimedo
