Message #00000
Welcome to the Ubuntu storage team
There's lots of work to do, but it's the fun kind, I promise :)
A lot of grief could be alleviated by simply doing a better
job of tracking Debian and upstream in general for packages
like multipath and lvm2. Neither of these packages seem
to have owners BTW. I'm aiming for this group to take
over these responsibilities.
Mdadm seems to have a group of one:
https://launchpad.net/~mdadm-devs
It'll be worthwhile to see if he/she's willing to join us,
and bring mdadm under this umbrella too.
As for the kernel proper, some investigating will need to
be done, and probably some custom scripting, to track
the LLDD's, block/cciss, message/fusion, & drivers/scsi/*.
I haven't the faintest idea what our current exposure is here.
There are participants in this group with years of storage
experience, but are relative new comers to Ubuntu and Debian
style development. We'll need to lean on each other to
achieve these very challenging goals. I have no doubt in my
mind that we'll succeed.
Peter
