PyCon Namibia 2016 in Windhoek

Hi everyone, following last year’s successful Python Namibia conference we’re back with a fully-fledged PyCon: http://na.pycon.org.

PyCon Namibia will feature four days of talks and open-source collaboration. The programme: http://na.pycon.org/programme/

We'll have speakers and attendees from all over the world: across Africa, Europe and North and South America, including the leaders of several key open-source software projects, and developers involved in initiatives of international significance.

There’ll be talks on Python in science and mathematics, web applications, how to participate effectively in open-source projects, the experience of being a coder, what the international Python community is doing, how to develop your programming career and much more.

There'll be workshops and tutorials on a number of subjects, including django CMS, the system adopted by Ubuntu itself for the Developer Portal and UbuCon websites (http://developer.ubuntu.com and http://ubucon.org/en/).

I am sure that you also have contact with other people in Namibia who might be interested in the skills and insights that will be on offer at the event, and no doubt there will be some who will have something to share with our other attendees - so we'd love to hear from them.

Tickets for the conference are on sale at http://na.pycon.org/tickets/. Please don't hesitate to contact us privately if affordability is a problem for you; we can help.

Last but not least, we'd love to have a short talk from a local Ubuntu user, who can help share some insight into adopting open-source operating systems for personal use. There was a lot of curiosity about it at last year's event, but a lack of exertise. Can you help?

With best regards,

Daniele Procida (on behalf of the organising committee)
