Message #00037
Which ABI ?
Hi List,
I'm quite new to openbsd so please excuse me if this is a FAQ
(at least this list doesn't have one).
I'm part of a team that's aimed at porting Ubuntu to the chinese
Loongson processor - an enhanced little endian MIPS64 architecture[1].
Before work can start the chinese insist on having a *n32* base system
up and running and this takes way too long IMNSHO.
Now I'm looking for what others e.g. you have. The only MIPS base
machine that I have at hand is an old SGI Indy r5k-ip22 i.e. a big
endian machine and I'll install your sgi port on it anyway.
Given this is for MIPS64, which ABI does it implement (o32, n32 or
n64)?
Maybe I can get hands on an old decstation in the next days - little
endian ones that need some work to get openbsd running on them. For
now I can't tell which processor.
Do you have any estimates on how much manpower to put in an effort to
get openbsd running on such a machine?
Thanks
Siggy
