We have been in contact with the current owner of the domain ubuntu.is and
he is refusing to hand it over to Canonical.

At this moment the price of ubuntu.is domain is symbolically low:
79,990 NOK, which equals to only two monthly IT-engineering salaries
in Norway. If somebody really wants to donate, he is free to buy the
domain and to donate it to the community.

Ubuntu and Canonical can contact the .is authority and launch a complaint
against this individual.

When reading through the previous disputes on the website (
http://www.isnic.is/domain/dispute.php), sorry icelandic only,
it is apparent that most foreign companies have a law firm here
in Iceland handling their matters.
