Hello all, 

first of all, if you are getting this email and are not subscribed to " Stanford Subsurface Imaging Team ", I would appreciate if you do that since I will be sending out emails to the mailing list of the group ("stanford-imaging@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ") from now on if there is subject to be discussed by our team. The emails and responses will be available on the web so that other members can track! 

I ran into Michael Saunders today in a talk. After a bit of chat, we started talking on the L1 optimization and some other topics. Michael developed a code that can be used for the problem Jason is dealing with. I think it is a good source to be known for our team when it comes to " Primal-Dual interior method for Convex Objectives". His code called PDCO together with many other free software can be downloaded from

Hope Jason can benefit this information. You may handle large scale Jason! (At least that is what Mike was telling me).... 
BTW, Michael Saunders is very cool!
