maybe some other relevant projects from TU 's in europe, dont know if
much dev work is done, I will give it a good look.
First of all: http://www.spraak.org/
- From their website:
SPRAAK (Speech Processing, Recognition and Automatic Annotation Kit;
"spraak" is also the Dutch word for "speech") is an open source speech
recognition package. It is an efficient and flexible tool that
combines many of the recent advancements in automatic speech
recognition with a very efficient decoder in a proven HMM architecture.
SPRAAK servers several purposes. The first one is a highly modular
toolkit for research into speech recognition algorithms. It allows
researchers to focus on one particular aspect of speech recognition
technology without needing to worry about the details of the other
components. The second goal is a state-of-the art recognizer with a
simple interface, so that it can be used by non-specialists with a
minimum of programming requirements. Next to speech recognition, the
resulting software enables applications in related fields as well.
Examples are linguistic and phonetic research where the software can
be used to segment large speech databases or to provide high quality
automatic transcriptions.
Second their dev plans: short/medium/longterm
http://www.spraak.org/development/development-plans
Third:
http://hmi.ewi.utwente.nl/topic/Speech%20and%20Language%20Technology
from their website: /Speech and Language Technology/ is concerned with
the processing of natural language, both in spoken as wel as in
textual form. The aim is to develop methods and algorithms by which
language can be either analysed or generated. The level of
understanding cq. well-formedness may vary and there is a large number
of relevant disciplines. Computational linguistics i sthe discipline
that contributes models of language and language use, while software
engineering expertise is an important supportive discipline, as the
processing tools may be complex and the data sets huge.
Again I'll will give it a good look. And give you some feedback if nec.
regards
Leon
