So, I've run into a strong need for threading in pyax/beatbox as I find
it blocking an application server that I use it in. I've added bug
246998 regarding this, along with some comments.

I'm wondering if any of you have thoughts about this - it seems at first
blush that beatbox is the best place to instrument this change, but my
experience with threading is limited at best.

Any ideas are most welcome!
