Yes, membership on the design team requires my approval.

This is an experiment motivated by years of traumatizing
experiences on the Ayatana list. The idea is to use this
list for brainstorms and proposals, while the closed
list will be for discussing the details of designs that
will effectively land.

What I want is all threads on the design list reaching
a conclusion and consensus. For this, it's essential
that noise and derails are avoided. So I want to keep
it restricted to people who are more closely and
regularly involved, instead of including people who
entered the list just to post a mockup or make a small
comment.

Will it work? I have no idea. :) It's an experiment.
