GStreamer 1.4.5 is the latest, but most systems have the older GStreamer
0.10 installed as well. Rewriting it to work with GStreamer 1 seems like a
good idea though.
Launchpad has improved a lot in the last few years, and should be able to
pull the source from GitHub, build a package (my build recipe seems to be
working now), and upload it to the PPA automatically — all we'll have to do
on Launchpad is update version numbers and changelogs. In fact, even the
Debian packaging can be hosted on GitHub, so yeah, we'd probably do
everything, or most everything on GitHub.
