To get this started, I initiated the branch with a module adding:
- Employee "code" (no serious HRMS can live without this)
- Additional roles for the employee Managers

Usually the Department structure is at the heart of the workflows in an organization.
So, an idea would be to have a "hr_workflow_base" module , with helper functions to handle approval flows and security/permissions related issues.
I'm thinking of uses cases such as holiday or expense approvals, job opening/job filling approval processes, etc.
