Re: Python GUI choice
Assalam Alaykom,
LooooooL, I'm not an expert X)
I've just start learning Python too X) but I have a bad experience with
PyQT(PySide) that's why I was looking for PyGTK or Tkinter..
I've asked the guys on the
#python<http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#python>irc channel..
About the GUI libraries, I've remember the information that PyGTK will not
support Python 3 too, not very sure about that because I can found again
the information.
But PyObject will support Python 3.
For us I think that we will use Python 2.7 right now, then if we will use
Python 3 I think that will be not be a big problem(not sure too).
Everybody recommend to learn Python 2.7 because there is no good Python3
books and because Python2.7 will be supported for a good period of time(the
time that we will be able to find some good documentation for Py3)
About Python books, I have 3 titles:
- Learn Python The Hard Way, 2nd
Edition<http://learnpythonthehardway.org/book/>:
Strongly recommended from the python
community(#python<http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#python>),
the html version is free, the book contain 52 python exercises.
-
- Think Python(How to Think Like a Computer
Scientist)<http://greenteapress.com/thinkpython/thinkpython.pdf>:
Try to read the preface, you will like the story of how this book was
written.
- Python Programming<http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/91/Python_Programming.pdf>:
No comment about this book :p
For the GUI when we will decide what library we will use then I'll find
some good documentation and share it with you :D
