Re: mintCast 006
Oh, and that's probably obvious to most users.. but on an eeePC, knowing
how to move windows by holding the ALT key is a must. This would
definitely be worth mentioning.

Charles,
Quick note from the devs :) Mint does not provide any customized edition
for netbooks, however:
- All Mint tools were made to fit within 800x600. The mintInstall GUI
was redesigned because of this between Mint 6 RC1 and Mint 6 stable. And
same goes for mintConfig-XFCE, it was made smaller to fit in the screen
after Mint 6 XFCE RC1 was released (the new version of this package is
currently available in the repositories).
- Mint comes with a theme called Carbon, based on the Candido GTK
engine, which is particularly suited to small screens. If you install
Mint on an eeePC, make sure to reduce your fonts, to use Liberation
fonts (also installed by default) and the Candido GTK theme.

I found this site that could be useful for the mint team, for people who
use Sony Vaios... its worth checking out, maybe even talking about
computer manufacturers and drivers and linux compatability.. etc
http://vaioubuntu.wordpress.com/
all the best :)

If you are going to talk about the eeePC I could install Linux Mint on a
HP Mini Note 2133 and a Sony Vaio and give a small review. I also had a
couple other machines I keep wanted to try out (tablets) but that will
probably be for another time.
I will try to do some recordings Saturday before the super bowl.

I'll be producing mintCast episode 6 this weekend.
The topic will be the eeePC, running Xandros (the distro that's
included out of the box).
If you have anything to contribute for this episode, now is the
time
to get it together.
