Re: Next show

I like the idea of the opinion segment, where you talk about about what you're looking forward to in Mint 6. Or since you've already installed it, talk about what you like about the new version.

Doing an install without losing settings and data is a great topic. Be sure to mention that even though they aren't going to lose anything, to have it backed up first. Things can happen.

I don't know what boxee is, but in any case we need segments about software that is available and useful. That's one of the biggest things that I get out of Linux podcasts, is learning about software I wasn't aware of.

Good luck on finding a headset.

Charles

I have 3 segments I was working on. Unfortunately, I upgraded to linux mint 6 and now my headset doesn't work. :( I am probably going to have to find another headset to use hopefully tonight to record the sections I wanted to do.

My first segment was going to be what I am looking forward to in LM6. I imagine Charles you are going to talk about some of the new stuff. So I was just going to say the stuff I like. Second segment is how to do a fresh install without losing any settings/programs using tar and dpkg (this is going to be more of a written tip which I already started writing on the site) but I will talk about it too. My third tip was actually going to be about gnome-do but if you are going to talk about that than I could talk about boxee.

I hope I find a headset tonight that works.

PS. does anyone have problems with Gnome-do and the twitter plugin? Mine authenticates fine but I can't actually send a tweet. It fails every time.

If anyone has a recording to contribute for the next show, now is the
time. I'll be recording episode 3 this weekend.

This week's topic will be: taking notes (Tomboy, basKet, etc.).

The lead news story will be the release of Mint 6 Final. There will be
more than 2 news items this time, I'm getting better organized on this.

If no one else submits a tip, my tip of the week will be Gnome-Do.
