Re: Music

I like the idea of opening this to the listeners. It took me a lot of time to come up with the music I'm using now, I don't want to spend a lot of hours again looking for something. Whatever we do, we're not going to please everyone on this.

The Blogcast web template that I'm using has more tools that I haven't dug into -- there may be a poll tool I can use for this and other polls. I like the idea of posting a poll between episodes. If you have more ideas for polls, let me know.

For that matter, I like the idea of posting more content in general between episodes. Especially while we're posting episodes bi-weekly, it would be be good to give them a reason to visit the site between episodes. I'm thinking of posting some blog entries between episodes, to provide content and generate more user feedback.

And I can set up multiple authors on the site. If you're interested in posting blog entries, let me know and I'll set you up.

They wouldn't need to be long entries. In fact, I like the idea of posting little one- and two-paragraph entries that consist of a single tip, or point to an interesting article or even comic on the web. The more content we provide, the more reasons people will have to visit the site.

And the single-tip blog posts would be particularly good for Mint tips, for those things Mint provides that you don't find anywhere else. Topics about other distros are fine too, but we are mintCast so that's a good place to focus some effort.

Plus, if users start seeing the added value in Mint, we'll be persuading more people to try Mint.

Firefox add-ons are another good source for tips. We could post items about add-ons we've found useful.

I know this may sound a bit unprofessional, but if you ask me, I think it would be a good idea to give that option to the listeners. it could make things more interactive for them, and bond them with the show. the more they feel like they have a say in it, the more they'll want to listen to it.

and speaking of question polls, we could like have on posted every couple of weeks, with every episode. simple questions. so that we could get a feel of our listeners, age groups, interests, etc

just my 5 cents :)

have a great weekend guy
