Hi, 

With Linux Mint I basically started with an ugly logo I had made myself.
The website was terrible too. I focused on the distribution itself. It
became popular and it attracted quite a few people, and among them
artists who eventually designed the website and the logo. For the logo,
we got quite a few proposals so we ended up having a contest. 

Don't hesitate to ask for help in the artwork section of the Mint
forums. I'll also mention this on the blog.

Hey Charles and everyone, not sure exactly whether this would work or
not, but a nice idea for a prize might be a guest segment on our podcast
where they get to to talk about what they want (linux related or not)
within reason. I think a set of rules would need to be made up for both
the segment if we choose to go that way and the contest (which I think
is a great idea). For the contest, I think the easiest way would be to
narrow whatever images we get to the top 5 or 10 by distributing to the
list and having us choose the 5 or 10 best and then making a thread in
the forums and letting the community choose the best out of the original
5 or 10 we narrowed it down to.

Hope that all made sense. It was thought of in a mad rush to get out the
door but basically.

1. Art contest is a great idea.
2. Possible prize can be guest segment.
3. Rules for both contest and guest segment to be made up.
4. Out of all the images that gets submitted we (here in the list)
choose the top 5 or 10 images. Then a thread in the forums lets the
community choose the best.
