My small RF remote control (only three keys: 1 - laser pointer, 2 - page up,
3 - page down) has a USB RF receiver plugged into the PC and presents itself
as a keyboard. All it does is to produce page-up and page-down events.
Thanks to this it has so far worked on every laptop or PC I came across. I
don't know if this is a common approach for these gadgets or if some produce
up/down or left/right key events. If it is more common, I would suggest to
map page-up/page-down to a slide change with transitions.
