Library for webkit to communicate with back end sockets

What licenses would be acceptable in this?  Would you like to stay
strictly GPL?

I'm looking into websocket libraries, many of them are licensed under
Apache 2.  I think there may be compatibility there but I am not sure.

This will provide a layer of communication between the backend and webkit.
