Message #00002
[ArchLinux] Packages for version 0.5.0
Hi Brett
First of all congratulations for this new release.
I'm sorry that I couldn't finish the timer plugin on time.
Now the good news. I packaged the new version of gnome15 for Arch Linux.
The updated/new packages on the AUR are the following:
gnome15 http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=44880
g19d http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=44945
gnome15-gnome-plugins http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=47363
gnome15-panel-applet http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=47362
gnome15-systemtray http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=47361
pylibg19 http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=47360
If I find enough time (very hard these weeks), I will also package
gnome15-impulse15.
Regarding gnome15-indicator and gnome15-iconpack, they seem very Ubuntu
related to me. Since Arch Linux uses a "stock" Gnome distribution by
default it will be difficult for me to package them.
By the way, I wonder if gnome15-gnome-plugins shouldn't be split in two
packages.
The first would be compatible with a "stock" installation and would have
cal, lcdbiff and screensaver plugins.
The second one would be "Ubuntu" specific and would have indicator-me
and indicator-messages plugins.
I think this would help gnome15 adoption in the "global Linux
ecosystem". :-)
As for lgsetled and pyinputevent, these are related to using a patched
kernel, so I don't think I will work on them until the patch is
integrated in the mainstream kernel.
Regards.
