Howdy,

I had a brainstorm.  What if.

1) we compiled a list of all courses that require the use of a proprietary
software package at WVU.

2) we found free software alternatives to the proprietary software
packages.

3) we organize groups of students to complete the work necessary for each
course in the free software alternative.

4) we submit the results of #3 to the faculty involved with the course and
try to encourage them to use the free software alternative.
