Hi all,

I have a suggestion for which I wanted your input. The current
solution for viewing public data, where we have a fixed guest user
account, is not optimal. The other solution of having the superuser
team creating new users all the time is not also very effective.

I suggest that we instead make an option for people to create their
own user accounts, which will automatically give them basic
authorities for viewing data only, e.g, "Create new account" link on
the front page. We can also implement a function for restoring
forgotten passwords, i,e. "Forgot your password?".

I think this will reduce your workload and make life easier. Can we go ahead?
