[Bug 2085820] Re: Volume Control Buttons Jump to Extremes on Ubuntu 24.04

There's a bit of potential weirdness with the spa.alsa, seems to be
getting confused about accuracy, something I don't see on my 24.04
machine,

I 10:25:27.777475           spa.alsa ../spa/plugins/alsa/acp/acp.c:1254:mixer_volume_init: Hardware volume ranges from -99999.99 dB to 20.00 dB.

I subscribed alsa-drivers in case they have any advice. One other thing
to check, does the following sequence work as expected, or does the
volume clip to an extreme value?

$ pactl get-sink-volume @DEFAULT_SINK@
Volume: front-left: 53757 /  82% / -5.16 dB,   front-right: 53757 /  82% / -5.16 dB
        balance 0.00
$ pactl set-sink-volume @DEFAULT_SINK@ -10%
$ pactl get-sink-volume @DEFAULT_SINK@
Volume: front-left: 47203 /  72% / -8.55 dB,   front-right: 47203 /  72% / -8.55 dB
        balance 0.00

Bug description:
  I have a sound problem with my laptop model Lenovo ThinkBook 16 G6
  IRL. When I press the volume up button once or twice, the volume jumps
  to maximum. Similarly, when I press the volume down button once or
  twice, the volume drops to minimum. This occurs both on the speakers
  and with headphones. I am using Ubuntu 24.04.
