[Bug 2129735] [NEW] Speakers and microphone lost after upgrade to Ubuntu 25.10

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When running Ubuntu 25.04, my Thinkpad X9 15's speakers and microphone
worked correctly, and were visible in the settings menu. After upgrading
to Ubuntu 25.10, the settings menu can no longer see the speakers or
microphone. Only a dummy output device is shown.

lspci -v shows that the audio controller is still found at a kernel
level:

00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation Lunar Lake-M HD Audio Controller (rev 10)
	Subsystem: Lenovo Device 233b
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 64, IRQ 189, IOMMU group 17

	Memory at 2051000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=2M]
	Capabilities: <access denied>
	Kernel driver in use: sof-audio-pci-intel-lnl
	Kernel modules: snd_sof_pci_intel_lnl, snd_hda_intel
