Editing sleep.conf and changing to
[Sleep]
AllowSuspend=no
AllowHibernation=no
AllowSuspendThenHibernate=no
AllowHybridSleep=no

works to prevent suspend to kick in when closing lid.

  Close laptop lid suspends even with HandleLidSwitch*=lock

Bug description:
  I have
  HandleLidSwitch=lock # suspend
  HandleLidSwitchExternalPower=lock # suspend
  HandleLidSwitchDocked=lock # ignore
  in logind.conf but my laptop is still suspending when I close the lid.

  This is especially problematic because returning from suspend, the
  filesystem becomes read-only and unusable.
