[Bug 2127903] [NEW] Eaton E5 650i UPS detected as empty battery (0%) on Ubuntu 24.04.3

 

Public bug reported:

When connecting Eaton E5 650i UPS via USB to Fujitsu ESPRIMO E710 E85+,
Ubuntu 24.04.3 shows a red battery icon with 0% charge and the warning "Battery empty".
In Windows, the UPS charge/discharge status is displayed correctly.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Connect Eaton E5 650i UPS via USB.
2. Observe the system tray battery icon and `upower -d` output.

Expected behavior:
The correct UPS charge/discharge status should be displayed.

Actual behavior:
Ubuntu always shows 0% and "Battery empty".

Hardware and software details:
- PC: Fujitsu ESPRIMO E710 E85+
- UPS: Eaton E5 650i
- GPU: Radeon 5450
- OS: Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS (kernel 6.8.x)
