FWIW, you are booting into an ancient kernel (6.8.0-31). Ubuntu is up to
-85 by now. Please make sure your system is updated.

After doing updating (and rebooting), please run this to gather the audio information:
apport-collect 2128700

Bug description:
  ASUS ROG Laptop does not (any longer) play sound out on internal
  laptop speakers, however it plays just fine on external devices.

  Volume is up and speakers are not muted. Switching devices plays sound
  just fine.
