FTR, I opened https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-
team/totem/-/merge_requests/15 to workaround this, but it wasn't
considered a high-priority enough issue to review, let alone backport.

Bug description:
  When trying to play some videos using Totem, the "Missing Decoder
  meta/x-gst-fourcc-mebx" message appears. However, the videos start
  playing fine after clicking the "Search in Software" button.
