Title:
External display does not wake after laptop lock

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have a really annoying issue where my display does not wake after
locking my laptop and the screen goes blank.

The laptop screen does come back, and I assume Ubuntu still detects
the external monitor, since the laptop screen does not switch to
  primary.

Plugging the external monitor out and back in does not solve the
issue. Also power cycling the monitor does not fix it. The only thing
I have found that works is dropping the refresh rate to 60 and then
increasing it gradually to 240 (I scripted this for now as an easy
  workaround).

I also tried defaulting to 60hz, but that does not resolve the issue.

It used to work in 24.04. I have this issue since upgrading to 25.04
and was hoping it would be fixed with nvidia maturing on wayland. But
since it is not yet fixed in 25.10, I think it's necessary to post a
  bug report.

For some reason I can only report issues to Xorg using ubuntu-bug and
not wayland. I am using wayland as far as I know.
