If you are sure the nvidia driver is running, then no I don't know.  Just
in case, try reconfiguring your your kernel.  That should ensure the nvidia
driver is built (with dkms).

Ie. sudo dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-3.0.0-14-generic-pae-ck

keep me updated.
