Web2py
Hi, I played with Web2py last night. I'm quite impressed. At first glance
everything I like about Django is there. Furthermore, it has great support
for Ajax out of the box. It has some other great features too, like a very
slick web ui for creating projects that even includes an ajax based editor.
I found it while looking for a framework that could easily deploy to my own
server or to Google app engine (which may be my favourite tool for quick
prototyping). It's database backend supports deploying to both an SQL
database of GAE's bigtable backend through only a configuration option.
I don't like that a lot of the function names are in all caps. However,
that's a petty complaint. It also lets you use python in the templates/views
which I think is cool and at the same time a little scary.
It looks fun. If you like django I think you'll be happy if you give web2py
a try.
