When you get to the tube station at Heathrow, I'd suggest picking up
an Oyster card from one of the machines rather than paying for a
single ticket. I'd add £20 to it to start. £10 for getting to and from
the airport¹, and the rest for occasionally jumping on the tube (like
for our team dinner on Tuesday night and getting to the Science
Museum, if you want to come on Wednesday).

The more adventurous could go for a zones 1-2 travel card, but I'd
argue you wont need it. London is a very walkable city. The office and
hotel are well located, about a 15-30 minute walk south from all the
interesting things.

If your debit/credit card is contactless, note that you can use that
to pay for journeys on London buses by tapping it against the yellow
reader, but you cannot do the same for the tube (yet).

My number is +44 7545 268 388. Please make sure you have it in your
phone. Don't hesitate to call or text me when you arrive if you run
into trouble.

¹: You are charged on exit (it's a zone system), so as long as you
have more than £2 remaining when travelling back to Heathrow, you can
leave London with a negative balance. If you have money left on your
card, you can get it and the £5 deposit paid on the Oyster card back
by asking a teller at the tube station.
