Message #00532
Upcoming changes to the CI Lab
All,
On Wednesday December 18th we will be implementing some changes within
the CI lab that will affect most users of the systems within the lab.
These changes are to bring the lab more in line with IS norms for
systems and infrastructure access and include:
- Removal of the generic ubuntu account on the CDUs
- Switching authentication from local system accounts to userdir_ldap [1]
- Eliminating privileged level access for certain accounts and/or
removing certain accounts.
If you or any jobs you run require access to ports on the CDUs to
power-cycle systems you need to get in touch with me before Wednesday
December 18th to get the credentials needed to access the ports for your
specific systems.
We will also switch system level authentication from local files/tables
to the user DB replicated from IS and make modifications to the sudoers
file which will eliminate some of the current access and limit who has
privileged level access. As listed in the note [1] below these changes
are only being implemented on the production servers within the lab and
will not change/affect access to the client test systems. It will also
not affect or change access to the Lenovo, HP or Dell stacks nor any of
the Kernel team test systems.
[1] This will only be implemented on production servers and VMs and will
NOT be implemented on test clients.
